Uvio Consumer Terms of Service

Summary. These are the core rules for using Uvio, including the app, website, public company pages, and related user-facing services.

Key points:

  • Uvio uses one-time code authentication rather than a password in this user flow. Do not share your codes or access data with anyone.
  • You control your company subscriptions and can unsubscribe at any time where that feature is available.
  • Uvio may display sponsored or advertising materials inside the service, clearly distinguished from service messages.
  • If a company offers a "Continue with Uvio" or similar sign-in flow on its own site or app, review what data the company will receive before completing the flow.
  • Uvio may restrict access where necessary to protect the service, users, or third parties.
  • Companies remain responsible for the content and offers they publish through Uvio.

This short summary is for convenience only. The full text below is legally controlling.

1. General Provisions

1.1. These Uvio Consumer Terms of Service govern the user's use of the Uvio application, Uvio website, public company and event pages, and other user-facing interfaces and functions of the Uvio service.

1.2. Uvio is a platform through which a user may authenticate with a one-time code, subscribe to companies, receive notifications, view company content, work with events and calendar features, use public pages, and access other related service functions.

1.3. These Terms apply together with the Uvio Consumer Privacy Policy, the Uvio visitor data policy where applicable, the cookie notice, and, where relevant, separate documents on location use and geo-promotional scenarios.

3. Account and Authentication

3.1. An account is required to use the personalized features of Uvio.

3.2. In this user flow, Uvio uses one-time code authentication and related technical session mechanisms. A password is not used as the primary authentication method for this scenario.

3.3. The user must provide accurate information, must not share one-time codes or other access data with third parties, and must take reasonable steps without delay if the user suspects unauthorized access to the account.

3.4. Uvio may restrict access to an account, suspend certain functions, or require renewed confirmation of identity where reasonably necessary to protect the user, the service, or third parties.

4. Main Service Functions

4.1. Depending on the available interface and enabled features, Uvio may provide the user with the ability to:

  • register and sign in using a one-time code;
  • view public company and event pages;
  • subscribe to companies, manage subscription status, and interact with company content;
  • receive push notifications, internal notifications, and other service messages;
  • view sponsored, promoted, or advertising materials inside Uvio where such materials are part of the product model;
  • view location-based promotional or advertising materials inside Uvio where the user has provided the required separate consents and device permissions;
  • save events, use calendar functions, export events to external calendars, and use shared links;
  • use web interfaces and other related service functions.

4.2. Certain functions may depend on the user's device model, app version, operating system settings, network availability, use of the website, or other technical factors.

5. Company Subscriptions and Company Content

5.1. The user may subscribe to companies through Uvio interfaces and manage such subscriptions where the feature is available.

5.2. After subscribing, the user may receive content, notifications, events, and other materials from the relevant company within the logic of the Uvio service and the user's selected settings.

5.3. Uvio may also display clearly designated sponsored, promoted, or advertising materials from companies or Uvio partners inside the service. Such materials are not service messages from Uvio even if they appear near other platform content.

5.4. If the Uvio product model includes geo-promotional or location-based advertising scenarios, those scenarios are used only where the user has provided the required separate consent for that use of location data and the necessary device permissions remain active.

5.5. The user may unsubscribe from a company or limit related communications using Uvio tools where such tools are available.

5.6. The relevant company remains responsible for the content, offer terms, and legality of materials published by that company, except to the extent responsibility is imposed on Uvio by applicable law.

6. Sign-In and Registration on Company Sites and Apps Through Uvio

6.1. The user may choose to use Uvio to confirm sign-in or registration on a company's external site or app through a one-time code flow.

6.2. In that scenario, after successful verification of the one-time code, Uvio may transmit to the relevant company a limited set of user data needed to create, link, or confirm the user's account on the company's side. The current scope of such data is disclosed in the applicable Uvio privacy documentation and in the company interface before the code is entered.

6.3. The user understands that after this flow is completed, the company acts as an independent party processing data on its own side under its own documents and legal model.

6.4. If the user does not agree with the data transfer to the relevant company or with the company's terms, the user should not complete that sign-in or registration flow.

7. Automatic Subscription After Company Sign-In

7.1. If a particular Uvio sign-in flow includes automatic creation or reactivation of a user's subscription to the relevant company after successful one-time code verification, that result must be disclosed to the user clearly in the company interface before the code is entered.

7.2. After the subscription is created or reactivated, the user may manage it through Uvio, including unsubscribing or changing related settings where those functions are available.

7.3. If the user does not want such a subscription to be created or reactivated, the user should not complete the one-time code flow without first reviewing the company's disclosures.

8. Events, Calendar, and Public Pages

8.1. Uvio may provide access to public company pages, public event pages, event saving, event export to external calendars, and shared link features.

8.2. When the user relies on external calendars, external websites, or other third-party services, the user is also subject to the rules of the relevant third-party service.

8.3. Uvio is not responsible for the availability, content, operation, or data practices of third-party calendars, sites, or applications, except to the extent required by applicable law.

9. Acceptable Use Rules

9.1. The user must use Uvio in good faith and only by lawful means.

9.2. The user must not:

  • share one-time codes or other access data with third parties;
  • impersonate another person, use another person's account, or otherwise mislead Uvio, companies, or other users;
  • interfere with Uvio, bypass technical restrictions, use automated abuse techniques, or violate the rights of third parties;
  • use Uvio for unlawful activity, prohibited content, fraud, or other abuse.

10. Restriction, Suspension, and Termination

10.1. Uvio may restrict, suspend, or terminate access to the service in whole or in part if the user violates these Terms, applicable law, the rights of third parties, or creates a security risk for the service.

10.2. The user may stop using Uvio and delete the account where that function is available, subject to the Uvio privacy policy and any mandatory legal retention requirements.

11. Service Availability and Limitation of Liability

11.1. Uvio aims to keep the service available but does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

11.2. Some functions may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, infrastructure incidents, app store restrictions, third-party dependencies, network limitations, or other causes outside Uvio's reasonable control.

11.3. Uvio is not responsible for the content of company materials or for actions taken by companies on their own sites or applications.

11.4. Uvio is also not responsible for a company's subsequent handling of data after the user has completed a sign-in or registration flow through Uvio, except to the extent such responsibility is imposed on Uvio by applicable law.

12. Age Requirements

12.1. Uvio is intended for users who are at least 16 years old, unless a different age threshold applies under mandatory law in the relevant jurisdiction. Users below the applicable age may use Uvio only with the consent of a parent or other legal guardian where such consent is required.

12.2. If Uvio becomes aware that an account was registered by a person below the applicable age threshold without the required guardian consent, Uvio may restrict or delete the account and related data as permitted by applicable law.

13. Changes and Final Provisions

13.1. Uvio may update these Terms when required by changes in law, product model, service functionality, or the way features are used.

13.2. The current version of these Terms is published in Uvio's legal documents section together with its version date. Where appropriate, users may also be informed through the app, website, or another Uvio interface.

13.3. These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any mandatory consumer rights available to the user under the law of the user's habitual residence or another mandatory regime remain unaffected.
